Compensation

• Base Salary: $92,000 - $105,000 per year, depending on experience
• Commission Plan:
  • Uncapped, pays monthly from dollar one
  • Accelerates after reaching target

Position Overview

Join a leading provider of mechanical surface characterization instruments. This role involves driving sales for a portfolio of products, including Nano-Indentation, Scratch Testing, and Tribology instruments. The ideal candidate will be based in Chicago, IL, or near a major airport in the Midwest, with frequent travel across the territory.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate and develop new accounts while managing and expanding existing accounts.
• Deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, including C-suite executives, production managers, and technicians.
• Qualify leads, develop proposals, and successfully close business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a natural science or engineering discipline (e.g., engineering, chemistry, physics).
• Experience:
  • 2+ years of experience in capital equipment or analytical instruments sales preferred.
  • Familiarity with mechanical surface characterization instruments is highly desired.
• Skills:
  • Exceptional written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong independent work ethic with a dedication to customer satisfaction.
• Other Requirements:
  • Availability for frequent overnight travel (up to 75%).
  • Valid driver’s license and passport.
