Role Overview: The Technical Sales Representative (TSR) is tasked with achieving predefined sales targets by actively prospecting, scheduling sales meetings, presenting products, closing deals, managing accounts, and conducting educational seminars on the company's full product lineup. The TSR is expected to sell the company's complete range based on value, quality, delivery, services, and expertise. Within an assigned territory, the TSR will focus on acquiring new business and maintaining current accounts through technical knowledge, understanding customer needs, competitive strategies, accurate quotes, and professional sales techniques. The TSR operates under an incentive plan that rewards controlling selling costs, maintaining selling prices, and achieving individual sales volumes and objectives. Additionally, the TSR is expected to uphold the company's CS1 mindset and represent the company positively and energetically. This role reports directly to the Sales Manager or General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and sustain professional business relationships with customers and potential clients to meet their tooling needs.
- Identify suitable company products for customers, provide accurate quotes, and promote the value, quality, delivery, and service of these products.
- Coordinate with the company's customer service to ensure timely delivery and write accurate orders for production.
- Lead seminars and training sessions on the effective application of flexographic printing plates, flat dies, rotary cutting dies, and other company products.
- Relay customer and prospect product pain points to the relevant departments.
- Maintain updated records of all sales activities and customer information.
- Travel as required to the company's plants, customer sites, and prospective clients' locations.
- Collaborate with team members and other departments to maximize sales efforts.
- Achieve or surpass assigned performance and sales goals.
- Keep accurate and complete customer records.
- Prioritize customer success.
- Adhere to all company corporate safety program requirements.
- Perform other assigned duties.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum Education & Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years of sales experience
- Preferred Education & Experience: Bachelor’s Degree; 3-5 years of sales experience
