Position: Technical Sales Representative (TSR)
Location: Houston, TX or appropriate location for territory covering west of the Mississippi
Reports to: Vice President - Sales
Date: July 23, 2024
Overview: The TSR is responsible for representing the company to customers and promoting the sales of BCS products to industries such as mining, oilfield, water treatment, chemical and industrial manufacturers. The TSR makes sales calls on sourcing and procurement personnel and consults with operations and laboratory personnel on product application and technical issues and would be supported by Product Management, Marketing, and Sales Management.
This includes establishing/implementing sales and marketing strategies, providing written reports to company management and customers, being the primary customer contact for questions and growing the company sales to assigned accounts. The TSR must work to ensure the company is meeting customer quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate would be a sales professional with at least three to five years of sales experience who enjoys the entire sales process from prospecting and territory development to closing new accounts. Compensation includes a base salary and benefits with generous new account-oriented commission program.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree: preferably a major in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering or environmental engineering or similar
- Minimum of three to five years’ experience in sales & marketing
- Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM platform(s)
- Highly organized and focused on details and accuracy
- Willing to travel as required (50%+)
- Able to lift 50 pounds
- Able to pass Company physical including drug screen
- Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
- Be able to work independently
Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
- Grow BCS sales
- Establish and maintain company’s customer database
- Contribute information for the company’s website as needed
- Submit written reports as needed
- Chemistry and regulatory adviser to customers
- Effectively implement price changes
- Understand, adhere to and enforce Company safety policies, ISO quality system, and core value principles
- Monitor compliance with mandated safety requirements
- Conduct customer training on product safety and applications
- Organize and participate in customer relationship development activities
- Maintain expenses within budget and complete monthly expense reporting
