Job Title: Technical Sales Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas
Compensation: $120,000 - $145,000 base salary with on target earnings (OTE) of $200,000 - $220,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Technical Sales Engineer, you will leverage your in-depth product knowledge and industry expertise in the upstream, midstream, and downstream pipeline sectors to drive sales opportunities. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Conducting sales presentations and product demonstrations, showcasing the value proposition of our software products and consulting services with emphasis on gaining market share (more new logos) and growing the existing book of business.
- Collaborating with Sales and Services teams to develop sales proposals and provide technical sales support throughout the sales cycle.
- Utilizing your technical skills to quickly follow up on leads, qualify prospects using BANT or MEDDIC techniques, and progress leads through the sales pipeline.
- Identifying, evaluating, and recommending proof of concept opportunities to showcase the effectiveness of our solutions.
- Researching prospects through various channels and maintaining relationships with existing clients to identify opportunities for account growth.
- Developing relationships with key stakeholders to identify opportunities to expand company software use and consulting services in client organizations, as well as to gather testimonials, success stories, and referrals that will aid in landing new business.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of successful software sales experience.
- Ability to work independently and travel up to 30%.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proven leadership skills and prior responsibility for all technical aspects of the sales cycle.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Oil & Gas midstream engineering sales experience.
- Demonstrated track record of successful engineering consulting services and/or software solutions with the ability to execute proof of concept plans.
- Experience in forecasting sales and understanding market challenges and opportunities.
