TheBehavioral Genetics Laboratory at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School has animmediate opening for a Research Assistant-II. Tangible experience with behavioral models iscrucial. Working under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator(PI) and a postdoctoral research fellow, this researcher should be able toindependently perform behavioral studies in rodent mouse models of autismspectrum disorder (ASD). The majority ofthe work will utilize immune-mediated models of ASD. Duties include breeding and generation ofmouse models, performing behavioral assays, and analyzing data. This researcher would also be expected todisplay flexibility by developing a working knowledge of other behavioralmodels used in the lab and showing a willingness to assist other researchers onseparate projects as determined by the PI.
BS/BAin a biology or neuroscience-related field.
Atleast one year of experience required in a directly related research setting.
Tangibleevidence of experience with behavioral studies, background in ASD researchpreferred.
Tangibleevidence of experience with behavioral studies in rats or mice using models ofpsychiatric illnesses.
· Ability to work independently.
· Ability to work on several projects atonce.
· Good interpersonal and communicationskills.
· Good organizational skills and writingability, detail oriented.
· Ability to methodically record and organizedata.
· Ability to perform a variety of routinebehavioral tests and prioritize work.
· Knowledge of computer programs (Word,Excel, Powerpoint)
· Ability to demonstrate professionalism.
