Technical Quoting Specialist

Job Summary:

We're on the lookout for a motivated and knowledgeable Sales Engineer to join our electrical wire harness sales quoting team. As a key technical specialist, you'll blend your expertise in wire harness design with your sales skills to identify customer needs, offer customized solutions, and contribute to our business growth. Key Responsibilities:

• Quotations and Proposals: Develop precise and competitive quotes by analyzing customer-supplied drawings and preparing Bills of Materials (BOMs) to support cost estimates.
• Technical Consultation: Act as the go-to expert for electrical wire harness products, delivering in-depth technical guidance and support to customers.
• Customer Engagement: Build and nurture strong relationships with new and existing customers, understanding their technical needs and delivering tailored solutions.
• Collaboration: Coordinate closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to ensure customer requirements are effectively communicated and met.
• Reporting: Keep detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and provide regular updates to management.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma required; post-secondary education (AA in Automation or Manufacturing, BS in Engineering) or relevant trade training (electrical, HVAC, etc.) preferred.
• Experience: At least 3 years in technical quotations, preferably in roles like Design Engineer, Project Engineer, Electrical Designer, Inside Sales, Technical Product Specialist, or Project Estimator. Experience in manufacturing is a plus.
• Technical Knowledge: Solid grasp of wire harness design, manufacturing processes, and industry standards, with a willingness to become a wire harness subject matter expert (SME).
• Problem-Solving: Strong ability to understand complex customer needs and deliver innovative solutions.
• Attention to Detail: Must excel in a fast-paced environment, with a knack for organization and multitasking.
• Travel: Open to occasional travel (1-2 times per quarter) for customer meetings and industry events.
