Job description
Technical Project Manager Advanced Engineering
The 'Technical Project Manager' will be responsible to provide project management leadership on delivery of new insurance products & capabilities enabling new business opportunities and operational efficiencies utilizing DevOps and SAFe Agile on Client.IO Platform and its adoptions with various lines of business. The Tech PM will be responsible for managing the delivery of projects from the Advanced Engineering Products group, collaborating with IT and business areas to understand requirements and actively participate in developing and implementing IT solutions. The PM will be responsible for appropriately prioritizing assignments, understanding resource capacity, and effectively handling project risks and issues.
Manage the day-to-day project activities and deliverables, including trouble-shooting issues, setting priorities, assigning work, and driving teams towards out-of-the box critical thinking to resolve issues.
Manage business expectations by communicating status and appropriately prioritizing based on business impact/need and negotiating changes to project scope.
Understand system dependencies and process flows to determine both source system and downstream impacts to projects.
Monitor convergence of coding and testing environments.
Establish strong working relationships with counterparts across all functional areas (both business and IT).
Collaborate with Architecture and Infrastructure to ensure adherence to standards via the Building Permit processes.
Effectively identify and manage risks and dependencies.
Responsible for scheduled production releases, including pre- and post-deployment activities (occasional weekend support required)
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or commensurate experience
10+ years of experience in technology management and project leadership
At least 5 years of experience in design, development, testing and delivery of production systems
Understand the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, testing and deployment methodologies for successful execution of the project
Duck Creek platform experience a plus
Insurance knowledge/experience
Experience in Agile development including Scrum, Lean/Kanban and related certifications
Experience using: Clarity, JIRA, Kanban boards, MS Teams
