Job description:
The Deployment Project Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of deployment services, including oversight of daily operations, capacity management, and decommissioning. This role requires strategic oversight, coordination with various teams, and ensuring optimal customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Deployment Management:
- Manage day-to-day deployment portfolio and oversee end-to-end deployment processes.
- Create and manage schedules, scope, meeting agendas, action items, and status reports.
- Ensure deployment documents are complete, current, and properly stored.
- Provide on-site support for deployments and coordinate with site operations, engineering, facilities, and suppliers.
- Handle deployment inquiries via Outlook/ServiceNow and ensure ticketing system is updated.
- Conduct Post Project Reviews to identify workflow enhancements.
- Decommission Management:
- Plan, track, and resolve issues related to decommissioning.
- Create tickets and respond to decommission inquiries.
- Track decommission status and coordinate task assignments with internal teams.
- Capacity Management:
- Initiate proactive capacity management initiatives and conduct gap analysis.
- Track, manage, and report resource levels to meet demand.
- Coordinate asset management, including decommissioning and relocation of low-density assets.
- Provide weekly updates on capacity programs and manage capacity reporting for power and cooling.
- Facility Capacity Management:
- Manage policies and processes related to capacity and facility usage.
- Define capacity limits and provide monthly reports.
- Conduct Quarterly Site Reviews and ensure adherence to Site Change Control measures.
- Coordinate site on-boarding and off-boarding processes.
Key Skills:
- Strong project management skills with experience in deployment and decommissioning.
- Proficiency in using MSFT tools like Outlook, ServiceNow, and capacity management software.
- Excellent coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to manage escalations and provide strategic oversight.
- Familiarity with Azure Hardware (WCS rack systems) and capacity management policies.
Requirements:
- Ability to handle 3,000 devices per month.
- Availability to support PST time zone during standard business hours with after-hours and regional coverage.
- Proactive and adaptable approach to resource allocation and technical assistance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to conduct post-project reviews for continuous improvement.
