Job Description: Technical Project Manager (Mid-Level to Senior)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and manage the planning, execution, and delivery of technical projects across our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget. This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring that technical solutions align with business goals and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Execution:
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders and technical teams.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budgets.
- Manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved.
Stakeholder Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing regular updates on progress, risks, and changes.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and clients to ensure alignment on project goals and priorities.
Team Leadership:
- Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring clear communication and coordination among developers, engineers, QA, and other stakeholders.
- Facilitate team meetings, stand-ups, and retrospectives to drive accountability and progress.
Risk and Issue Management:
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks and issues to minimize impact on project delivery.
- Develop contingency plans to address potential challenges.
Technical Oversight:
- Understand technical requirements and constraints to guide decision-making and prioritize tasks.
- Work closely with technical teams to ensure solutions meet business needs and adhere to best practices.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Monitor project performance using appropriate tools and techniques, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Provide detailed status reports and dashboards to stakeholders and senior leadership.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; PMP, CAPM, or Scrum Master certification is a plus.
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years managing technical projects.
- Proven track record of delivering complex technical projects successfully.
- Technical Skills:
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile, Scrum, or Kanban methodologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as JIRA, Trello, MS Project, or Asana.
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies, APIs, and system integrations.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in IT infrastructure, software development, or system implementation projects.
- Advanced certifications such as PMP, PMI-ACP, or SAFe Agilist.

- the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
- licensure and certification requirements;
- office location and other geographic considerations;
- other business and organizational needs.
With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
