The Surreal research group is seeking exceptional Technical Program Managers to solve the next generation of research challenges on the path to building future machine perception enabled technologies. This role focuses on formulating a new generation of end-to-end real-time 3D scene understanding systems working across Client mobile sensor design, sensor fusion, state estimation, computer vision, large-scale reconstruction and localization, as well as large-scale online inference and optimization.
You will define program requirements, deliverables, schedule and track progress, coordinate collaborations with other internal teams as well as manage partner and vendor relationships. To be successful, you will be eliminating barriers to your team's success, clearly communicating results to all stakeholders and ensuring the big picture stays in focus while digging into the details on specific issues. Ideal team members are adaptable and resilient, eager to attack unfamiliar problems with curiosity and tenacity, and able to use a light touch to find ways to help the team be more efficient.

Program compliance:
- Gain deep understanding of program-level requirements on HW/SW timeline, SW branch management, task management.
- Help collect, synthesize, and communicate program-level operational requirements between XFN and IQ teams, and ensure IQ delivery follows program requirements in terms of schedule and process.
- Drive PXFN (privacy) review process to ensure policy compliance and expedient approval.
- Represent the IQ team for status updates in program level reviews(e.g. TPM alignment, bug review, shiproom review).
XFN alignment:
- Work with IQ stakeholders (Eng, QA, PMs, TPMs) to map out XFN dependencies of IQ delivery.
- Build XFN agreement on IQ-related deliverables and manage the delivery progress.
- Unblock IQ team execution from XFNs. Triage IQ-related tasks to appropriate XFN stakeholders.
Team-level execution:
- Work with engineering teams to develop IQ project plans based on product requirements and program guidelines.
- Drive project execution. Communicate clear priorities to internal and vendor IQ engineers, and track the progress to ensure on-time delivery.
- Improve and manage the IQ team task system.
- Help organize IQ-related meetings and reviews. Present IQ status update in executive IQ reviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of program management experience with strong communication & presentation skills
- Embedded Camera software pipeline structure and development planning background
- Experience leading a team from concept to deployment
- Project management, leadership, dependency management and cross-group collaboration experience across more than one geographic location.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with a cross-disciplinary team of researchers, software engineers, and hardware engineers.
- Mobile Camera software/Image Signal Processing or equivalent embedded software integration background
