Responsibilities
Our client is seeking a Technical Project Manager to lead technology implementation projects and ensure their successful execution. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing cross-functional teams, overseeing technical solutions, and maintaining project timelines and budgets. This role requires expertise in risk management, stakeholder communication, and compliance with technical standards.
- Develop and execute detailed project plans for technology implementations, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation
- Define and manage project scope and objectives with input from stakeholders
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams, including software developers, RF engineers, and systems engineers
- Manage work completed by vendors and sub-contractors, ensuring collaboration and effective communication
- Provide expert technical leadership and guidance on projects, ensuring technical solutions align with requirements and compliance standards
- Create and maintain detailed project schedules using project management tools
- Track progress, identify potential delays, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely completion of all project phases
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks specific to projects, addressing challenges proactively to minimize impact
- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders
- Provide regular updates on project status, progress, and any changes in scope or schedule
- Ensure stakeholder requirements are understood and managed
- Ensure all project deliverables meet high-quality standards and adhere to best practices
- Develop and oversee project budgets, monitoring expenditures to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and compliance records
Requirements
- 5-7+ years of relevant experience is required for this position
- Experience with RF Communications and US DoD Acquisition processes
- Experience with software development and systems integration
- Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex projects
- Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, or Salesforce
- In-depth understanding of technical concepts and communications technologies
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, capable of managing competing demands and handling multiple priorities
- Experience working with DHS, Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Experience writing proposals, white papers, and SBIR responses
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
- Experience working in a design and development environment
Preferred Requirement
- Experience in Project Scheduling and project planning is a high plus
- A PMP certification preferred but not required
Education/Certification Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is required
