We’re looking for a Technical Project Coordinator (aka The Project Navigator) to support project planning, manage resources, and help deliver projects on time and within scope.
As a Technical Project Coordinator at our client, you’ll work closely with project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to coordinate tasks, track project progress, and support project deliverables. Your role will be essential in keeping everyone aligned, informed, and moving forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate Project Activities and Resources:
- Assist in the planning and execution of technical projects by organizing tasks, coordinating resources, and tracking progress. You’ll ensure that all project components are aligned and progressing as planned.
- Facilitate Communication Across Teams:
- Act as a liaison between project managers, technical teams, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication. You’ll relay updates, gather requirements, and address questions to keep everyone informed and aligned.
- Track and Report Project Progress:
- Maintain project schedules, update status reports, and document milestones. You’ll provide regular progress updates to stakeholders and identify any potential delays or risks.
- Support Project Documentation and Compliance:
- Assist with creating, organizing, and maintaining project documentation, including project plans, meeting notes, and status reports. You’ll ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Identify and Resolve Project Roadblocks:
- Proactively identify potential roadblocks and work with project managers to develop solutions. You’ll monitor project risks and support the team in minimizing obstacles.
- Assist in Resource Allocation and Scheduling:
- Work with project managers to allocate resources efficiently, monitor workload distribution, and manage team availability. You’ll help ensure optimal resource use for successful project completion.
- Coordinate Meetings and Support Team Collaboration:
- Organize project meetings, prepare agendas, and document action items. You’ll support team collaboration by ensuring everyone has the information and tools they need to succeed.
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Project Coordination and Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills for managing multiple project components, schedules, and tasks simultaneously.
- Technical Knowledge and Understanding: Familiarity with technical terminology, IT concepts, or software development processes. You can understand project requirements and communicate effectively with technical teams.
- Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams and relaying project updates to stakeholders.
- Time Management and Multitasking: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Project Management Tools: Experience with tools like Microsoft Project, Asana, JIRA, or Trello for tracking and organizing project tasks.
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Information Technology, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience in project coordination may be considered.
- Certifications in project management (e.g., Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)) are advantageous.
Experience Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience in project coordination or project management support, preferably within a technical or IT-focused environment.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies is a plus.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment.
