About the Job
Riverside Research is seeking a Technical Program Manager to provide technical expertise and programmatic support multiple prototype projects focused on commercial AI technologies ad their application to national security missions. Foundational understanding of AI SW/algorithm development and deployment in both open and secure environment, data pipelines, security and policy are desired. Prior experience operationalizing AI for defense applications is desired. The position will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams consisting of commercial developers, senior USG officials and military planners, scientists, engineers, and other stakeholders. It is based in Mountain View, CA (alternate locations: Austin, TX; Boston, MA; Washington DC; Chicago, IL).
Responsibilities:- Perform technical project management support for multiple prototype projects, from early curation and market research through acquisition prototype, test, and delivery to customer environments.
- Collaborate and lead government partners, commercial teams, and other DIU support staff throughout the prototype development lifecycle
- Provide expertise in architecture, implementation, and engineering disciplines related to AI SW and ML systems to evaluate the technical and programmatic feasibility of commercial solutions against defense requirements
- Perform independent reviews, detailed technical assessments, performance analysis of commercial solutions and their specific applications as part of commercial market research and evaluation of partner proposals during competitive acquisitions
- Review prototype proposals, technical and programmatic reports, acquisition documents, and related project documentation, keeping CRM and project databases up to date
- Participate in milestone reviews, ground testing, flight tests, and simulations, as well as reviews of post-test reports and performance data
- Prepare white papers, technical papers, briefing and meeting materials
- Respond to official requests for information and other tasks from government partners and stakeholders
- Participate in key intra- and inter-agency meetings
- Other duties as assigned
- Master’s degree in a business or technical field
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience and a relevant Bachelors degree with at least 3 years of experience in technical project, product management role
- Prior experience supporting DoD R&D or rapid prototyping efforts, preferably in the AI and ML, computer science, data science, or related technical field
- Prior commercial business, management, and/or technical experience
- Ability to establish multi-discipline, multi-stakeholder projects that enhance scientific collaboration, knowledge sharing, and research for the relevant community
- Ability to communicate to a broad range of audiences (Congress, CEOs, investors, commercial vendors, military officials, media, etc) to gain acceptance of vision, guidance and policy.
- Ability to obtain and maintain up to TS/SCI clearance. Active TS clearance preferred.
