Job Description Summary:

Pinpoint is seeking a detail-oriented and creative individual that can translate design concepts into precise, production-ready, technical drawings. Projects include woodworking fabrication, large format printing, metalwork, and various signage. You must have a build and final product mindset to interpret specifications, suggest materials, and optimize designs for efficient manufacturing. As a critical link between creative concepting and production, the role involves pre-flighting files, setting up print-ready files, creating cut paths, and engineering shop drawings that can be handed to the fabrication team to build with clear, easy to understand specifications. 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review, engineer, and create technical files for print production and fabrication projects, ensuring formatting accuracy, ease of assembly, and compatibility with various equipment and materials
• Creating 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings to support the manufacturing process
• Develop shop drawing packages for the fabrication team, inclusive of bill of materials, assembly directions,detailed specifications, and critical callouts 
• Work closely with designers, project managers, and production teams to interpret project requirements,resolve technical challenges, and present creative solutions 
• An understanding of how certain production and fabrication equipment might impact your approach to creating files; including CNC machines, flatbed printers, roll printers, laser cutters, and more 
• Continuously seeks out ways to increase the profitability and efficiency of projects via material suggestions, nesting, production processes, and technologies 

Skills and requirements needed to succeed:

• 4+ years of experience with design and drafting software including Adobe Creative Suite, Dimensions, SketchUp, AutoCAD and related engineering software 
• Sound understanding of technical design aspects including file formats, resolution for specific mediums, pre-flighting process, setting up cut paths, production equipment, Pantone colors, geometry, and math
• Engineering, woodworking, print production, or industrial design background
• Exceptional eye for detail and a very strong work ethic
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• Collaborative, receptive to feedback, and easy to work with
