Technical PM/Scrum Master
Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ (Remote for now until office opens)
Duration: 6 months Contract to Hire
Job description:
Hands-On Scrum Master/Technical project/program manager with attention to detail. Previous interact with engineering, architecture, and other technical teams as well as Line of Business Management. Build plans, track work as part of Agile SDLC process (Scrum, Jira, Backlog etc.) and Manage Delivery, stakeholder expectations, escalations, reporting, tracking status, leadership calls. Juggle multiple projects simultaneously with strong communication skills, technologies used: Java, Spring boot, Azure, .NET API, Mainframe/Cobol, MQ, Webservice, Databases, ETL, Informatica MDM, CosmosDB, IBM DB2 zOS. Preference for candidates who have previous experience in SAFe methodology.
• Ensure smooth delivery of the projects using appropriate project management practices and methodologies
• Work with project managers/coordinators for reviewing project plans, project estimates and delivery status, risks and issues of different projects
• Conduct executive steering committee meetings with leadership teams to keep them informed about the projects delivery status
• Perform risk management activities which includes identification of risks and developing mitigation and contingency strategies
• Responsible to establish the projects roadmap by working with business and enterprise architecture teams about the project prioritizations
• Work with different technology tower leads for resource forecasting and resource assignments for different projects
• Budget planning and preparation of task orders; ensure defined and agreed upon project metrics are met
• Manage communications with business stakeholders and vendors
• Provide leadership, direction and facilitated integration activities with other IT departments to ensure successful implementation and support
• Use innovative problem solving and critical thinking approaches to proactively solve a broad range of problems across technologies
• Act as primary liaison to the business for specific project initiatives
• Act as primary liaison with an on-shore and off-shore outsourced development Team
• Coordinate all phases of the project (requirements, design, development, SIT, UAT, deployment)
• Proactively manage issues/risks and escalate them as needed
• Build project plans and timelines for projects which could involve multiple vendors and cross team resources
• Plan, manage and execute projects to completion
• Provide periodic status reports on projects
• Maintain a high level of personal commitment and accountability to the business, and a focus on quality and service
• Interact with the business through requirements analysis and design sessions
• Participates in the Annual Budget Planning Process and Monthly Budget Review
• Manage and track project costs, including plan vs actual costs, forecasted estimates to complete, and costs at completion
• Maintain proper controls to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
• Agile and Waterfall methodology experience
• Ability to work in horizontal organization.
• Can deliver in tight deadlines.
Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. PMI or PMP certification preferred. Certified ScrumMaster preferred
