Position Purpose:
- Apply expertise in quality assurance and microbiology to the facility manufacturing processes and microbiology lab to result in conformance to FDA-Cosmetic guidelines and current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quality systems, processes, and procedures consistent with FDA regulatory and corporate guidelines.
- Be part of a high-performance team and accountable for performing the required tasks assigned to this position.
- Duties include, but are not limited to, reading out finished products, water, and raw materials, conducting additional micro testing if needed, and releasing finished products in SAP.
- Tasks outside the lab include updating the quality board on each converting line. Incumbent must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Fully commit to the health and safety of all employees under his direction, promoting and supporting occupational safety and industrial hygiene, and managing in a manner that seeks to eliminate injuries and illnesses.
- Provide leadership to institutionalize World Class Manufacturing to accomplish mill and supply chain objectives in conjunction with the Baby Care business plan to achieve manufacturing excellence.
- Control the operation of the Maumelle facility to achieve targeted Key Performance Indicator results in the nine accountability areas: Safety, Housekeeping, Human Resources, Quality, Cost, Raw Materials, Customer Service, and Corporate Ethics.
- Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Practice procedures that meet safety codes, policies, and guidelines, ensuring the safety and well-being of all facility colleagues. Emphasize consumer safety by ensuring that all products meet product safety requirements.
- Provide expertise in conducting microbiological testing and releasing finished products, raw materials, manufacturing processes, and personnel.
- Provide technical expertise in maintaining sanitary manufacturing equipment and assist in developing effective and innovative microbiological testing methods. Develop knowledge and skills to be recognized for microbiological expertise.
- Coach team members and customers regarding statistics, process control, and preventative quality management for continuous improvement in both existing and emerging manufacturing sites.
- Maintain security and documentation to ensure data retrieval and protection of proprietary information. Document results and report as required by KC policy to ensure effective communication and provide the necessary FDA and legal requirements.
- Communicate fully with superiors, subordinates, and others who need to know. Communications should be prompt, complete, candid, and clear.
- Contribute to an environment where all team members are respected, regardless of their individual differences, and are motivated to improve both individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results.
- Assist and recommend the development, implementation, and validation of product quality testing procedures.
- Assist in the development of an informational database for identifying microorganisms with significance to product quality.
- Continuously focus on product quality improvement.
- Support the business in moving from an Appraisal to Prevention mode of product quality assurance.
Additional Details:
- This position requires working Tuesday-Saturday onsite, from 7 AM-4 PM. They will also work on holidays if the holiday falls on their scheduled shift pattern.
- Incumbent will fill in for anyone who is out of office, functioning as a backup. Overtime is offered due to this.
- Day-to-day responsibilities include reading plates, testing raw materials, water testing, and identification of organisms. They will also assist in lab investigations, support the initiation of validations, and troubleshoot issues.
- Technical Skills: ETQ experience is preferred. SAP experience is preferred. Office proficiency is required. Previous experience in a client field is preferred.
