HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL DO ON THE JOB:
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage & train the Product Evaluation Group (PEG). The team performs product technical evaluations on incoming test submissions and provides quotations with recommended testing scope based on regulatory and industry standards. Support the team by performing product evaluations during peak periods.
- Manage benchmark & performance Retail testing programs and verifying performance/claims on products.
- Participate in standards development and technical subcommittees, such as ASTM F15 (toys), ASTM D13 (textiles), ANSI for tricycles, ISO TC 181 for toys, and AATCC.
- Collaborate with the Global Technical team to harmonize testing and interpretation for Toy/Hardlines and Softlines products, ensuring consistency across Intertek global labs and industry standards.
- Identify and propose opportunities for revenue growth through new test methods development or improvements to lab operations.
- Provide technical support for the lab operations on interpretation of regulatory test standards.
- Assist clients with technical queries and interpretation of test results; coordinate with the quality team to investigate, analyze, and implement corrective actions in line with Intertek Quality Manuals.
- Conduct training sessions for clients and internal colleagues covering topics such as product safety and regulatory compliance. Assist with client presentations and lab tours as needed.
- Provide technical support for the local account management and sales team as required.
- Generate marketing updates for regulatory notices and new capability campaigns for the lab.
- Supports Sales efforts by:
- Identifying potential new business partners and negotiating agreements.
- Maintaining and growing client relationships
- Providing forecasts, activity reports and other analyses required to assess the status of sales efforts, primarily through daily usage of the CRM.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in product evaluation and scoping out regulatory and performance tests for U.S. and Canadian markets in a third-party lab on toy/hardline and Softline products is required.
- Experience and general knowledge of fabrics and textiles products, toy & Hardlines products, chemical testing, testing standards, and U.S. & Canadian regulatory requirements on consumer products.
- Good understanding of US and Canada regulatory landscape is required.
- Comfortable with public speaking and client engagement.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in terms of education, experience and/or training. Degree in science/Chemistry is preferred.
- Prior lab testing experience in a Hardline or Softline lab is preferred.
