Business Technology Integrators (BTI) has an opening for a Cybersecurity Engineer to work in support of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information Security (OIS) on the Information System Security Engineering (ISSE) Cloud, FedRAMP, and Electronic Health Record (EHR) team.
This high-profile position serves as Business Technology Integrator (BTI) primary point of contact and leads the day-to-day contract operations of the ISSE Cloud, FedRAMP, and EHR team, ensuring that the technical scope is delivered within schedule and quality requirements.

Functional Job (LCAT) Information:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Management, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Assurance, Information Security, Information Resource Management, or related fields.
- One or more of the following: IAT III, IAM III or IASAE III certifications.
- 10 years of Information Security Experience of which at least 5 years are of Cybersecurity and Cloud Security experience at a large Government agency similar in size/scope to GSA, IRS, DoD or VA).
- Perform ISSE security-related strategic planning to include supporting the VA electronic health record management effort (EHRM), supporting enterprise technical modernization, providing cloud services support, providing operational advice and expertise on securing enterprise systems.
- Provide full lifecycle information security support for VA cloud initiative, FedRAMP, and the EHR as assigned by CTM leadership.
- Identify and assess the security risks associated with each implementation and supporting the engineering of solutions that satisfy VA authorization requirements for Cloud, FedRAMP, and EHR.
- Develop and provide Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Security Assessment Reports, Cloud Transition Plans, Cloud Transition Reports, and other ad hoc cloud security reports that may be needed to address cloud security concerns according to industry standards and VA information security requirements.
- Ensure that the team is fully staffed with appropriate skillsets per labor category (LCAT) as defined in the ISSE Staffing Plan.
- Communication: Establish a communication approach that provides effective, consistent, and clear communication to all key stakeholders such as the customer, project team, and other contract teams.
- Ensure timely submission of contract deliverables such as monthly status reports and cumulative key performance indicator (KPI) reports.
- Scope Management: Define project scope, track changes, and manage scope creep, ensuring that project deliverables remain within agreed-upon parameters.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively address issues to keep projects on track and minimize disruptions.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality control processes, ensuring that deliverables meet established quality standards and user expectations.
- Documentation: Maintain thorough project documentation, including requirements, specifications, change logs, and other relevant records.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate strong relationships with clients, users, and internal teams, understanding their needs and expectations to drive successful project outcomes.
- Expertise in cybersecurity engineering requirements and authorizations (FedRAMP/RMF) into systems and applications.
- Expertise in IT and Cloud design, security, development, systems engineering, and implementation efforts.
- Expertise in Cloud solutions in federal and/or commercial industry.
- Expertise with Federal A&A and ATO activities.
- Expertise in Federal policies, processes, and standards.
- Must Be a US Citizen

- Experience with understanding FedRAMP requirements.
- Experience with Cloud infrastructure and Security requirements.
