Position Overview:
As a Technical Lead - Program Principal Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing our SeqPlus program. Your responsibilities will span from guiding architectural decisions to ensuring seamless collaboration among teams. You will have the opportunity to lead software development efforts across all stages, from inception to deployment and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate the software development team within an Agile framework.
Collaborate with a diverse group of professionals to implement efficient bioinformatics algorithms.
Provide accurate work estimates for development tasks and ensure timely delivery of solutions.
Manage the development lifecycle of assigned products, from research to production.
Drive technological innovation and maintain high standards of software development practices.
Foster a culture of communication, growth, and knowledge sharing within the team.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
Proven track record of managing Agile software development teams.
Experience with highly available, high-traffic web applications.
Strong ability to translate business requirements into actionable development tasks.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Required Skills:
5+ years of software development experience in a Linux environment.
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, C, C++).
Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
Proficiency in at least one scripting language (BASH, Python).
Familiarity with SQL databases and structured documents (XML, JSON, CSV).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and testing methodologies.
Strong presentation and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with genetic and biological data.
Familiarity with Docker or other containerization mechanisms.
Knowledge of MongoDB or other NoSQL database technologies.
Experience with workflow engines, particularly in scientific contexts.
