Summary:
The Technical Lead, Digital Workspace and Collaboration is responsible for the design, development, and ongoing operations of digital workspace and collaboration solutions including managing and administering solutions built on Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Power Platform from inception through retirement. The Technical Lead is also responsible for owning the technical design, implementation, and operation to create seamless, integrated, scalable, compliant, secure, automated, and adaptable solutions while fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. The role requires translating business requirements into appropriate solutions that balance speed to market, flexibility, integrity, and cost, while ensuring that applications and data are effectively integrated into the broader technology ecosystem. Additionally, the Technical Lead will serve as a subject matter expert, collaborating with other DIT teams, vendors, and global operational teams to execute strategy, enhance user experience, and explore emerging technologies that support organizational objectives. This is a hands-on, individual contributor position that will handle all aspects of systems management from support tickets through migration of complex business workflows from Nintex to Power Platform.

Solution Lifecycle
- Develop governance process and manage the complete lifecycle cycle of digital workspace and collaboration applications from inception to retirement to shape and execute landscape strategy and roadmap for multiple concurrent DIT projects.
- Evaluate business requirements and technology landscape to identify and recommend the most appropriate technology.
- Ensure applications and data are effectively integrated into the broader technology ecosystem to create a cohesive landscape.
- Drive performance improvement of applications to be consistent with the vision, operating modes and processes that are leveraging these systems.
Technical Leadership and Solution Design
- Implement and support the design, development and delivery of best-in-class technology solutions in digital workspace and collaboration platforms.
- Own end-to-end technical design, implementation, and operation to create seamless, integrated, scalable, compliant, secure, automated and adaptable solutions.
- Shape business processes by designing solutions that balance pace, flexibility, scale and longevity.
- Translate business requirements into appropriate architecture that balances speed to market, flexibility, integrity and cost.
- Create and review technical specifications and other documentation as required for projects or operations.
- Serve as a resident expert in digital workspace and collaboration technologies and perform design, code and config reviews to all changes to ensure technical and functional acceptance.
- Provide input into Testing strategy, establish test metrics and assist with testing as needed in projects.
Vendor Management
- Actively manage vendors and hold them accountable to expected levels of service.
- Work with functional director to identify and execute areas of improvement with the vendor, continually challenge/benchmark services to drive excellence in end user experience.
Collaboration
- Partner with other DIT teams to ensure solution compatibility with strategy, standards and service model.
- Establish effective working relationships with vendors, service provider and global operational teams to achieve established goals.
Operations & Day to Day
- Administer and support ongoing operations of Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Power Platform and other digital workplace tools including issue triage and coordination of the resolution.
- Plan and perform maintenance, change and release management across the DIT team and external application partners.
- Support security and compliance aspects of the technology landscape and drive continuous improvement in operations.
- Lead release management, security, user access and audit compliance activities for owned production applications.
- Implement and oversee end to end services, including technical knowledgebase, production transition activities, support and monitoring.
- Empower end users to self-manage collaboration tools by providing support and training as needed.
Innovation
- Serve as an advocate for emerging technologies and industry trends to bring business value and improve technology health.
- Champion opportunities, recommendations and advice that support Quaker Houghton and DIT goals.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Information Systems preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive Digital IT and hands-on technology experience including architecture, design, development, test strategy and implementation of SaaS technology platforms and Microsoft collaboration tools.
- 5+ years in Microsoft system administration, with at least 2 years in Power Platform. Experience with Nintex is a plus.
- 2+ years of experience developing modern pages on SharePoint Online.
- 2+ years of experience developing complex business solutions using Power Platform.
Skills:
- Passionate about using technology to solve business problems through data, integration, applications, and sustainable architecture.
- Extensive hands-on experience in administration, design, configuration and development in Microsoft technologies including Power Platform (Model-driven and Canvas App, Power Automate, Power Pages/Portals, Power Apps), SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams.
- Experience with web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for developing cloud-based resources and operations.
- Experience in full lifecycle management of business applications utilizing ITIL best practices.
- Experience in working with teams in multi-geographies in Agile/Scrum setting with productivity tools like Jira, confluence.
- Ability to communicate, gain consensus, shape, challenge, and influence effectively in group settings.
