This is a challenging and dynamic role responsible for manufacturing planning and production, material availability, material and product flow, capacity and bottleneck resolution, as well as improvement efforts that drive our operational strategy. This opportunity requires a result driven individual with strong organizational skills, ability to thrive in a team environment, and a passion for continuous improvement.
The Operations Strategic Capabilities Unit plays a fundamental role in enabling efficient business and program execution from strategic capital investments, industrial operations and an efficient supply chain, to state-of-the-art manufacturing and test operations and top-notch facilities management.
What You ll Do:
+ Provide Manufacturing Engineering support for Tactical RF aperture and electronic products in a high mix / low volume aerospace environment supporting our mission to help the warfighter on advanced technology platforms.
+ Participate in manufacturing projects including work cell design, layout, optimization, and resource utilization for high mix / low volume builds.
+ Participate in Lean manufacturing projects in support of continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Develop and / or refine modeling tools for projecting manufacturing resource needs.
+ Learn and gain competence in using BAE Systems manufacturing system tools and systems.
+ All work will be performed under the supervision of senior engineers and Lean / 6-sigma consultants.
+ Conclusion of internship requires the preparation and formal presentation of project work to the Manufacturing Engineering department.
+ Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
+ Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
+ Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
+ Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
+ May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
+ May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Hourly Rate: $25.25 - $34.00
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Must have completed your sophomore or junior year and be enrolled in a degree program for the fall of 2025. We will also accept students enrolled in a graduate degree program.
+ Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
+ Effective communication and collaboration skills; comfortable working in a team environment; high energy and desire to learn.
+ Familiarization with Lean Manufacturing concepts and tools.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
+ Coursework in work cell design and modeling preferred.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $52520.000 - $70720.000
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
Temporary employees generally are not eligible for BAE Systems benefits, but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
