Position Overview
Kiewit has an immediate opening for a Technical Integration Manager specializing in Hydropower turbines and generators to provide engineering planning and coordination duties for Hydropower & Dams (H&D) projects. The candidate will work closely with an interdisciplinary team that includes civil, geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical engineers, as well as estimators, schedulers and other construction professionals to provide various services to internal groups for the development of H&D projects.
Responsibilities will include H&D technical integration management, engineering coordination, support of business development efforts, participation in proposal preparation, contribution to construction estimating, scheduling, and planning efforts The successful candidate will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a focus on collaboration while providing technical, quality, and safety leadership on projects and pursuits.
District Overview
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering's Design-Build team is driving clients to turn to Kiewit during all stages of design-build projects. Through our integrated design and construction approach, our multi-disciplinary team works together to improve schedule, control costs and minimize risk. Our construction-focused engineers work collaboratively with our estimators and builders to design solutions that are innovative, constructible, and designed with a focus on safety. Location
This position will be based out of Kiewit major Hub locations with travels as business necessitates to project sites and offices.
Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Hydropower Technical Integration Manager team lead:
• Coordinate and optimize technical interfaces on H&D projects
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to reduce risks and optimize H&D projects overall
• Contribute to H&D engineering project execution including interfacing with third party firms, manufacturers and internal teams
• Support the growth of the H&D engineering team by participating in recruitment and integration efforts
• Support the H&D business development efforts of Kiewit’s various Districts across North America.
• Contribute to H&D technical proposals with scope definition
• Support the development of the nascent Kiewit H&D engineering team by leading initiatives to structure the team, its processes, its tools, etc.
Qualifications
• Experience in the hydropower, dams and hydraulic engineering design market, preferably as part of a Consulting Engineering Firm or Equipment manufacturer.
• Experience with project delivery models that include working directly with the contractor (one or several of Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, Turn-key, I2PD, etc.)
• Experience with the design, as well as the fabrication and installation planning of hydropower turbine and generator components. Previous experience working with a top tier turbine and generator supplier is an asset.
• 10+ years’ experience in management of H&D projects
• Strong business acumen with an interest in growing the H&D business
• Efficiency, client focus, autonomy, initiative, ability to work independently and prioritize.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Strong written verbal and written communication in English, French is an asset.

• Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
• Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies.
• Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
