Position Description
The Inside Sales Representative will work daily with customers to resolve their needs timely and efficiently. The position includes all facets of inside sales in product selection and quoting, customer service, shipping & return of goods, expediting and handling customer complaints. This position supports & interacts with outside sales to drive growth.
Ideal Experience
The ideal candidate will have a motivation for customer service and have at least 4+ years of successful inside sales / customer service experience in an industrial environment, preferably in valves and flow control products. Additionally, they should feel comfortable with understanding and interpreting process flow conditions in order to discern customer requirements. This relationship-builder must have excellent interpersonal skills (in person, on the phone, and via email) and be computer literate in a high-paced office environment. The ideal candidate should also possess a high level of actuation and controls knowledge to be successful in this role. The ability to understand and interpret technical requirements and successfully communicate that information internally and to our customers is key.
Position Functions:
- Receives telephone requests for price quotations, purchase orders, order changes, adjustments, and cancellations directly from customers, original equipment manufacturers, and distributors
- Quotes products and services to customers, outside sales and entry into Dynamics 365.
- Enters customer orders into Infor LN
- Aids customers and outside sales with the requirements and proper product selection
- Uses a computer & CRT to retrieve customer information, product stock status information, the status of purchase orders, delivery information and to make changes on customer purchase orders. Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information
- Works closely with production and Inventory Control regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments for non-stock items needed for customer orders.
- Professional, respectful customer communications
- Satisfies customers with technical issues, delivery, expediting, returns and complaints
- Maintains files of active orders and posts activity such as change notices, scheduling changes, partial shipments, and credit changes.
- Prepares paperwork (original purchase order, copies of invoice, and return goods memo) to be given to accounting department for credit or debit to be issued
- Occasional on-call or after hours support on a rotational basis.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree - technical or business preferred.
- Customer service personality
- 4+ years of customer service or sales experience – Ball valves and automation, (chemical oil or gas industry) preferred
- Mechanical/technical aptitude
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
