Job Title
Technical EngineerPosition Overview
Shaw Industries is seeking a Technical Engineer to drive continuous improvement efforts and new product/new equipment development.
Responsibilities:
Comply with procedures found in SMS and Job Requirement Books.
Perform all job duties using safe work methods.
Comply with Corporate Absenteeism and Tardiness Policy.
Work normally scheduled days adhering to starting and stopping times. Work overtime as required.
Communicate and enforce standards and expectations for all shift associates.
Perform other duties as assigned by Department Manager.
Lead, assist, and/or support continuous quality improvement efforts.
Provide engineering and troubleshooting support to all departments as needed.
Investigate processing and quality problems and implement data driven solutions.
Study processing parameters to improve product performance. Must be able to set up systems to collect and analyze data as well as implement data driven solutions.
Manage the implementation of any process changes.
Develop processing conditions for any new products
Develop quality specs for all new products.
Managing and/or assisting Technical Manager with all new developmental projects.
Assist and lead Lean/Kaizen/Six Sigma process and projects.
Set-up SYR’s and coordinates trials.
Manage the SYR System
Monitor SYR’s running in Department
Ability to travel as required.
Assist as needed.
Requirements:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree.
Must possess good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
Must be able to work holidays, weekends and overtime as required.
