Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
Experience: 5+ years in Maritime Engineering management
Languages: English
Traits: Ability to travel as necessary, work well with others, self-starter, proactive, flexible with work schedule, well organized, lift at least 50 pounds, climb ladders and work from elevated work surfaces, embark and disembark marine vessels.
Broad operational background and Leadership trajectory required.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Oversight of all fleet/vessel technical matters
- Monitors dry-docking and major repairs of all company vessels
- Schedules regulatory and emergency dry-docking and manages major repairs to ensure:
- Condition of hull and machinery comply with applicable codes, standards, and Local, National, and International regulatory requirements.
- Safe and reliable performance of vessels in compliance with current legislation and customer and company policy/procedures.
- Oversight of class and regulatory surveys and repairs, as well as relevant certificates
- Assist each port in managing their M & R costs.
- Develop and maintain philosophies, methods, and systems to reduce technical costs and vessel downtime.
- Ensure compliance with the Company's preventative maintenance system and work towards its continued improvement.
- Responsible for introducing systems and methodology to maintain and upkeep fleet to minimize downtime by strategic planning of spare part inventory.
- Introduce best practices and new technologies.
- Develop strong lines of communication between each division and liaise between port engineers and senior management.
- Implement a "Shared Information Network" and provide support to all Port Engineers, "VP Engineering," and the Director of Quality, Safety, and Environmental
- Develop and ensure that engineering policies and procedures are adequate, understood, and followed, including planned maintenance and general vessel maintenance.

- Finalizes technical budgets for the fleet.
- Responsible for alignment of the department's mission and overall objectives to the Company mission
- Ensure the department's mission and overall objectives are understood by all department employees.
- Member of Senior Management with respect to reviewing environmental issues, establishing objectives, and inaugurating environmental programs
- Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of assigned vessels by:
- Review vessel performance documentation and data
- Monitoring operating budgets
- Reviewing safety meeting minutes and commenting, as needed
- Responsible for long-term shipyard planning
- Maintenance scheduling and developing standard jobs.
- Confirming repair vendors meet all technical and quality requirements.
- Promotes a professional relationship with the officers and crew; convenes safety meetings during vessel visits, addressing issues important to management.
- Works with the HSSQE staff on shipboard issues relating to safety, quality, and environmental goals.
- Conducts periodic vessel visits.
