What This Role Is
As a Technical Business Analyst, the primary function of this position is to analyze data, make strategic recommendations, develop reports, dashboards, data visualizations, and models in support of different layers of business at CITY Furniture. The Technical Business Analyst will utilize various tools to highlight business opportunities, through detailed documentation or presenting the findings in in-person meetings. Your contributions will ensure the success of the Data & Analytics department at CITY Furniture.
Position Title: Technical Business Analyst
Reports To: Director, Data Analytics (Supply Chain Analytics)
Location: Hybrid - Corporate Office in Tamarac, FL/Remote
Department/Sub-Department: Technology / Data & Analytics
Salary: Starting at $60,000 (DOE)
What Youll Do
As a Technical Business Analyst, your primary responsibilities will be:
- Reporting and Visualization / Optimization and Model Creation
Creates, condenses, automates, and optimizes current and new reporting, dashboarding, and visualization processes to help support the team on both a scheduled ad hoc basis by leveraging BI Tools, Excel, and other analytics tools.
- Data Analysis
Combines reports, data discovery, data mining, dashboards, knowledge of internal data sets, and industry knowledge to provide strategy, recommendations, and recommended next steps to team members and upper management.
Additional duties and responsibilities as a Technical Business Analyst:
- Data Management of Future State
Uses knowledge of internal data sets and teams needs to plan what future data sources will be needed and what data needs stored in our Data warehouse.
- Insights
Provide business insights to Data team and Stakeholders to highlight business trends with the intention to through analytic and technical skills help to mitigate future issues or understand what is working and how to improve or repeat.
- Data Validation and Audit
Strong business sense to develop and execute tools to monitor and report on data quality. The Analyst will also be able to define principles required to define the business rules required to ensure we have Stakeholder aligned business rules.

Whats Required
- Education & Work Experience:
- Bachelor of Arts, Bachelors Degree in Business Management related or quantitative field (Economics, Math, Statistics, or Equivalent) preferred or equivalent work experience in a relevant field.
- Two (2 ) years of experience in data, analytics, or equivalent.
- Experience with large data sets, data warehouses, and data lakes in both access and shaping the future data requirements.
- Work Environment & Schedule:
- Monday through Friday
- Hybrid environment: corporate office and remote
- Occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays may be required based on business needs.
- 5-10% travel to showrooms.
- Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged sitting at a desk and working on a computer,
- Technology Requirements:
- Strong quantitative skills, knowledge of SQL.
- Strong mathematical, analytical, statistics skills
- Strong Excel Experience, Google Sheets Experience.
- Strong Business Intelligence Tool Experience: PowerBI, Cognos, Tableau.
- Some Python Experience.
- Some data modelling and predictive modelling experience
- Some data mining experiencess
- Certifications / Licenses (Preferred but not required)
- Google Business Intelligence Professional Certificate
- Certified Business Intelligence Professional
- IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate
- Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate
- Florida Drivers License required
