Job Description
Business Analysts oversee assessing information technology systems and making suggestions for how they can better meet business needs. Their duties include refining the roles and responsibilities of IT professionals on their team, creating implementation requirements and developing IT plans with stakeholders. This includes requirements analysis, sometimes also called requirements engineering with a focus on ensuring the changes made to an organization are aligned with its strategic goals. These changes include changes to strategies, structures, policies, business rules, processes, and information systems.
Managing and Influencing
Acting as an information source and communicator between the business and technical team on a project.
" Understanding strategic business needs and plans for growth.
" Enhancing the quality of IT products and services.
" Manage technical difficulties, working with developers when necessary
" The ability to manage multiple workstreams and efforts from beginning to completion
" Producing reports on application development and implementation.
" Draft statistical reports that assist decision-makers in choosing the right programs
Data driven decision making
" Analyzing the design of technical systems and business models.
" Utilizing IT data for business insights.
" Analyzing technical needs.
" Sourcing and implementing new business technology.
" Soliciting technological solutions to business requirements.
Technical acumen
" Running A/B tests and analyzing data.
" Analyzing data to inform business decisions.
" Keep up to date on the latest applications of information technology
" Implement new IT operations into the company from the initial idea to the project completion
" Conduct brainstorming sessions
"JAD i.e. joint application development approach
" Conduct Requirement gathering or walk-through
" Develop user stories, conduct User Acceptance Testing sessions
" Facilitation of Backlog grooming, Sprint Planning, Sprint Sizing, Sprint Retros
" Facilitation of Solution Reviews
Business acumen
" Collaborate with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges
" Ability to understand the team s challenges and develop solutions.
" Identify the key stakeholders and liaise with them to get the exact requirements or expectations from the system.
" Eliminate the requirement conflicts between different stakeholders.
" Document all the functional and technical requirements, processes i.e. AS-IS and TO-BE, etc.
" Develop prototypes to demonstrate the TO-BE system, processes, and behavior.
" Identify the risks, system gaps, and opportunities to improve the overall system and processes.
"Get the business and stakeholders approval (upon requirements walkthrough) on the final documents and aligned with the technical team as well.
" Set the requirements priority and aligned with stakeholders and delivery team.

" Excellent written and verbal communication skills are crucial for working with all stakeholders.

"IT Business Analysts should be familiar with various types of project management and business analysis software.
" Work alongside the TPM to monitor the project log workbook (i.e.; communications plan, change requests, action items, decisions log, lessons learned, etc.)
" Analyze, validate, and assess the change requirements.
" Gain the required approval as an additional budget requires for implementing the changes.
" Communicate the change request status to the stakeholders regularly.
Experience
" 5+ years in an IT business analysis position.
" 10+ years in a technology-driven role.
" Expert level in Client Office Applications
" Advanced knowledge and ability to use collaboration tools such as; Jira, Smartsheet, Confluence
" Excellent written and oral communication skills
" Proficient in data analysis
" Experience or basic understanding of programming
Education / Credentials
Degree in computer engineering, business administration, or related field.
SAFe, Six Sigma, SCRUM Master certifications highly desired
