This position is responsible for completing complex and technical financial analysis, interpretation and documentation. This includes handling most accounting problems with minimal assistance. The individual in this role would be required to obtain information from and coordinate the flow of information with other departments to resolve complex accounting matters, both on a daily basis as well as those involving long-term analysis and implementation of standards.
This role will also require significant technical input to review, maintain and develop accounting policies and practices. In addition, the individual in this role will be required to prepare specialized memos/reports and may function as a team leader for accounting analysts. This role will generally work independently and will be advising both the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) and the Assistant Controller of the appropriate paths/methods to complete an assignment.

- 5 years
List any specialized training or unique skills required:
- Current CPA license required.
- National or major regional public accounting firm experience.
- Detail working knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
- Prioritize work when given multiple projects.
- Skilled in change management both in accepting and leading it.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
1. Leads, alongside the Assistant Controller as the CAO’s representatives, the discussions and/or manages various transaction considerations early and upfront to ensure appropriate awareness and application of GAAP as well as any internal controls considerations across CITGO.
2. Manages all critical accounting policies/concepts through either maintaining or reviewing current or developing and implementing new ones.
3. Manages and analyzes industry reference sources for continuous compliance and appropriate presentation and disclosure of financial statements.
4. Coordinates directly with the Financial Reporting Manager on the quarterly and annual financial statements and reviews the GAAP disclosure checklists (as provided by external auditors) for accuracy and completeness.
5. Leads staff training and development regarding the most challenging technical accounting topics and current issues, including the analysis and conclusion of current developments specifically pertinent to CITGO.
6. Other duties as assigned.
