Tech Support Manager - XpertTech
Chelmsford, MA 01863
About the Job
We are currently looking for a Tech Support Manager. The role is fulltime and the reason the position is open is the manager is moving to another growth position within the company.
We are not looking for an IT Manager.
Director, PM, etc..This is solely a Tech Support Manager.Someone who manages Field Tech Support staff that does phone/remote support and also goes onsite to various customer sites to do installations, repairs etc....
Someone who may have started in PC support/Administration and moved up the ranks. The ideal candidate is a hands-on tech who has moved up the ranks to management.
An environment with multiple clients (not just internal endusers).
Someone who has been recently working within hardware/software.Someone who has built servers, racks, installed software, trained customers etc...Someone who has recently been in a traveling role and comfortable doing that if needed.
This is definitely a hands-on management role so if the team cannot answer customer questions/issues, would be able to take the calls (possibly on a night/weekend) to fix the issues.
The role will require some travel. The IT Techs do about 25-30% but the manager doesn't travel as much.
We are a Windows Server and SQL environment so someone who has supported that environment and is hands-on is what we are looking for.
