Overview The Surgical Technologist provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the operating room. The Surgical Tech works under the supervision of the surgeon and facilitates a safe, effective and orderly operating room to maximize patient safety. Our surgical techs at Presbyterian Hospital assist with Peds, ENT, General, Neuro, ortho and vascular surgeries. There are 16 OR rooms and on average see about 40-65 cases a day. For experienced Surgical Techs, level II or III positions may be available. Surgical Tech - Requirements : HS Diploma or GED plus short-term training in operating room setting or graduate of surgical technician certification from an accredited school or training program required. Current BLS required Familiarity with all surgical instruments and equipment and a working knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique. Minimum of 2+ years experience in a hospital or outpatient operating room if not from an accredited training program. CST preferred but not required Benefits Learn more about our employee benefits.
