The Technician III - Formation Evaluation is responsible for Under moderate supervision, to perform the routine duties necessary to ensure that laboratory services are of the highest quality, and to ensure that such services are provided in a timely, safe, legal, and ethical manner.

What you'll do:

• To receive, examine, and record through a log-in process, inbound items for testing.

• To deliver test samples to the sample staging area.
• To monitor the availability of the supplies needed for the testing processes, and to make any needs for such supplies known to Laboratory Management.
• To prepare samples and quality control specimens, to prepare and standardize reagents and solutions, and to calibrate equipment needed for the testing processes.
• To perform testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology.
• To verify and communicate the results obtained, and to make the appropriate entries into instrument logs, control charts, calibration records, laboratory worksheets, and any other media, whether print or electronic, required to ensure the validity and traceability of the information.
• To maintain documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat and orderly condition.
• To assist in the training of less experience employees; be a mentor.
• To carry out the above responsibilities, and all others which may be assigned, in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company's Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and strategy, and to exercise good judgment, commons sense, and diplomacy in so doing.

What it takes to be successful in this role:

• The Technician III should have a Bachelor degree in Geology, Earth Science, Petroleum Engineering, or extensive years of relevant work experience.
• 5+ years prior laboratory experience in core analysis or advanced core analysis with various degrees of exposure to; steady-state permeability, unsteady-state permeability, rock-fluid compatibility, formation damage, CT & X-ray scanning, electrical properties, rock mechanics, NMR, centrifuge capillary pressure and mercury injection CP.
• Must have a grasp of industry accepted experimental protocols and ability to process and QC experimental data.
• The Technician III must be physically able to do the work required; some heavy lifting, working with high temperatures (>300F) and high pressure (>20Kpsi) equipment.
• Perform work safely while handling crude oils, gases, acids and other oil field chemicals under temperature and pressure.
• Possessing a mechanical aptitude and exposure to data acquisition software a solid plus.
• Expected to be able to use Excel and Word to record, process lab data and generate preliminary reports.
• The Technician III should have a positive attitude, a high tolerance for job pressure and be able to multitask on several projects simultaneously.
• The ability for working and communicating with persons of diverse personalities and backgrounds.
