Total Safety is looking for an In-Plant Service Center (IPSC) Technician to join their safety conscious team! Works under the direction of a supervisor in a plant environment and provides a variety of services which may include inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer owned or Total Safety equipment. Interfaces with customers on a regular basis. Drives a commercial truck and a variety of trailers to pick up, haul and unload equipment and supplies on customer site. After appropriate training and certification serves as a safety attendant at an industrial customer site in one or more of the following areas: Confined Space, Fire Watch & Atmospheric Monitoring and Flagging/Spotting.

Essential Duties:
- Learns to inspect, test, and maintain safety equipment per manufacturer's requirements and document service according to Total Safety/customer policies and procedures.
- Performs routine inspection and maintenance of breathing air equipment.
- Assists others in facility including stocking shelves with clean, tested and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery. Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition. Performs additional duties after training.
- Learns to issue, receive, track and inspect equipment using company/customer provided software.
- Able to effectively communicate with others and build rapport with customers quickly.
- Must work safely and adhere to all Total Safety & customer policies and procedures.
- Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition.
Skills and Experience:
- At least six months of field experience in fire protection, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience operation, maintenance, reassemble and test electronic safety equipment in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications
- Customer Service skills preferred as this is a customer facing role.
- Must demonstrate ability to work in a team or independently.
- Willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Preferred: Ability to drive a pick up truck and trailer
- Valid driver's license and valid proof of vehicle insurance.
- Must possess good driving record.
- TWIC preferred (will be required upon employment)
Working Environment:
- Plant environment.
- May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration.
- Works in customer environments.
- May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and plant traffic.
- The noise level in work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demand:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Uses hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Educational Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
