Shift: 2nd Shift - 4:15pm- 1am
Monday-Friday, some Saturdays- Daily Overtime is scheduled and shift can run until 3am.
Hourly Rate: $18.00
Position: Team Leader – Sit-down Forklift Experience Required
Location: Lafayette, IN
Summary: This position is responsible for assisting in supervising the assigned team and location, as well as performing various warehouse tasks such as picking, packing, forklift operations, receiving, and conducting cycle counts of inventory. A high level of accuracy is essential to meet customer expectations. Forklift certification is required, along with the handling and sorting of parts into racks or containers throughout the day.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for assigning the daily jobs for each member of your team and leading the before shift meetings.
- Help in monitoring stop call waits, proper PPE usage, and assist with any questions a member of their team may have.
- Monitor that end of shift checklist is handled timely and properly.
- Learn and understand the area they are assigned to ensure it is run properly.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work area utilizing the principles of 5S Participates in the facilities Safety program.
- Training, Hiyari Hatto reporting, Risk Assessment, Observation of Safety policies of the company and facility.
- Participates in team meetings.
- Lead all efforts in training new and existing employees on proper Standard Operating Procedures.
- Assist Supervisors in monitoring Standard Operating Procedures for team members by monitoring and correcting. Reporting to Supervisor that further training may be required.
- Occasionally operate forklift and occasionally pull parts from designated part racks and place said parts into the staged racks for the costumer.
- Checks completed work for accuracy and parts for damages.
- Review computer printout for accuracy regarding the staged racks.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This individual will be responsible for recommending promotions for their team members, training them, performing the same tasks as their subordinates, addressing their concerns, organizing, and planning their work, and assessing their efficiency and productivity.
Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Frequent use of hands and fingers is necessary to handle materials and operate heavy machinery. Daily tasks include stooping, kneeling, crouching, and driving heavy equipment. Occasionally, the employee may be required to climb and operate machinery, as well as lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Vision requirements for this role include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and depth perception.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in both hot and cold environments. The facility is not cooled in the summer. The employee will also be required to wear safety shoes and safety glasses on the facility floor.
