Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Team Lead – Open Systems with expertise in modern development frameworks and tools to lead and mentor a team of developers in delivering high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) and Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS) domain, along with a strong technical background in Java, JSF, Struts or Spring, and cloud technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Team Management:
- Guide and mentor a team of developers to ensure successful project delivery
- Provide technical direction, resolve technical challenges, and foster an environment of continuous learning
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, QA, and project managers
- Technical Development & Oversight:
- Architect, design, develop, and deploy applications using Java, JSF, Struts/Spring, ReactJS, and MuleSoft
- Develop and consume RESTful and SOAP-based APIs for system integrations
- Leverage cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for application hosting and scalability
- Integrate document management solutions using FileNet
- Project Execution:
- Ensure adherence to development standards, processes, and timelines
- Conduct code reviews to maintain quality and ensure compliance with best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Domain Expertise:
- Utilize prior MMIS/MES and Medicaid experience to align solutions with business needs
- Stay updated with changes in Medicaid regulations and policies to ensure compliance
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 5 years in software development, with at least 2 years in a team lead or similar leadership role
- Strong understanding of MMIS/MES systems and prior Medicaid-related project experience is strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in Java, JSF, Struts or Spring, SOAP, and REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with ReactJS, MuleSoft, FileNet, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges
Preferred:
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns and best practices
- Certifications in AWS, Azure, or MuleSoft are a plus
