ROLE SUMMARY:

Assists the Teacher in the implementation of the education program for the birth to 21 years of age. Performs related work as requested.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attends to the physical needs of the children
• Adheres to the Health Safety and sanitation policies, and maintains a clean, safe, and hygienic classroom.
• Assists the teacher in implementing the education program.
• Performs supportive teaching duties under the direction and supervision of the teacher.
• Performs additional tasks in a timely fashion
• Positions, transfers, and feed students as necessary

JOB TYPE: Full-time or Per Diem

SHIFT:

• Full-Time Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:15 am - 2:45 pm (30 hours/week), on a 12-month school year.
• Per Diem Schedule: On-call

HOURLY RATE: $18.03 - $18.04 per hour (Non-Exempt)

A full-time position is benefit eligible and has generous time off.

Requirements

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

• Graduate of an accredited High School GED
• Minimum of one year experience working with children in a classroom or childcare environment preferred.
• Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
• Must have the ability to supervise children in a variety of educational settings including, but not limited to, self-contained and integrated.
• Must be physically able to handle all aspects of the supervision of the day-to-day activities of students which may include, but are not limited to, running, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

*All hires must possess a valid NYS Driver’s License at the time of hire.
