Requirements / Qualifications
$4000 Signing Bonus: $2000 provided at completion of each of your first 2 years of employment.
Internal Applicants: Although an EdJoin application is the only requirement for internal applicants: it is recommended that you include all items listed to allow all panel members a complete view of your qualifications and background.
Required level of education in order to obtain the appropriate authorization from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for the position.
Must possess an appropriate California teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing authorization, Communication Handicapped or the ability to obtain alternative certification.
Must possess or have the ability to obtain an English Learner Authorization. Possess documentation of American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)/Sign Language Proficiency Interview minimum score of 4.0 or equivalent assessment.
Applicants may be tested.
If hired, must provide proof of a valid California Driver's License
Applicant packets must contain the following to be considered complete: Application
- Copy of Transcript (Proof of Bachelor's degree)
- Credential Copy (California Teaching Credential authorizing specialized services to students with deaf/hard of hearing impairments)
- English Learner Authorization (Proof of or have the ability to obtain English Learners Authorization)
- Letter of Introduction
- Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two Letters of Recommendation are required-each letter must be dated and have a signature)
- Resume
- Test Results/Materials (ASLPI/Sign Language Proficiency Interview score 4.0)
