Cross Country Education is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired in Mt. Prospect, IL. This Teacher for the Visually Impaired will provide specialized instruction and services to meet the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments ages 3-21 by developing, selecting and modifying instructional plans and materials of students utilizing Braille, large print and technological devices. Teachers will provide input regarding the planning of instructional goals, benchmarks/objectives, and methods regarding students Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). In this role, the teacher will need to conduct functional vision/learning media assessments and provide interpretations of assessments on the impact on students learning. 

POSITION DETAILS:

• Role: Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Location: Mount Prospect, IL 60056
• Age/Grades: Ages 3-21
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 40 hours a week
• Duration: January through May 30th, 2025 (flexible for short-term coverage if needed)
• Compensation: based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS:

• License: Valid IL Professional Educator License with a Teacher of Students who are Visually Impaired endorsement
  • Preferred: License in Orientation and Mobility
• Experience:
  • Preference to teachers with 2 years of experience
  • Preference for Orientation and Mobility experience
