Requirements / Qualifications
Napa Valley Unified School District has a 1.00 FTE opening for an English Teacher at American Canyon High School. Successful candidates will be able to teach all levels of English courses. Candidates who have experience with problem and project-based learning will be preferred. Candidates need to have teaching experience at the high school level working with diverse populations and a willingness to explore team teaching with English teachers, a commitment to: work on collaborative teams; developing formative assessment practices; implementing 21st century teaching practices; differentiated instructional methods that support interventions and RTI; teaching the whole student; developing positive student/teacher relationships and; fostering a positive school climate. American Canyon High School strongly encourages all teachers to sponsor a school club, coach a sport, or sponsor an extracurricular activity. Candidates must hold an English Learner Authorization (ELA) or be eligible for an Emergency ELA permit while working on earning an ELA.
