Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Tax Compliance: Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Tax Planning: Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax savings opportunities. Provide guidance on tax implications of business decisions and transactions.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on tax matters. Address client inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Research and Analysis: Conduct tax research and analysis on complex tax issues, staying current on changes in tax laws and regulations. Provide guidance to clients and internal teams on tax implications of new developments.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor junior staff members, providing guidance and support in their professional development. Review their work to ensure accuracy and compliance with firm standards.
- Project Management: Manage multiple client engagements simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are of the highest quality. Coordinate with other departments within the firm as needed.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve tax processes and procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the tax department. Stay abreast of industry best practices and trends.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's degree in Taxation or CPA certification preferred.
- Minimum of [X] years of experience in public accounting with a focus on tax compliance and planning.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to research complex tax issues.
