Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Tax Associate with expertise in oil and gas tax returns. This role involves managing complex tax compliance and planning for clients in the oil and gas sector, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Senior Tax Associate will collaborate with the team to provide high-quality tax solutions and contribute to client relationship management.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review tax returns for oil and gas clients, including partnerships and corporations
Research and apply oil and gas tax regulations to ensure compliance
Assist in tax planning strategies specific to the industry
Identify opportunities to improve client tax outcomes
Manage tax engagements and assist with audit defense when necessary
Mentor junior associates and contribute to team development
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification required
4-6 years of tax experience with a focus on oil and gas returns
Strong knowledge of tax compliance and regulations in the oil and gas industry
Experience with tax software and advanced proficiency in MS Office
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and leadership skills
