We are seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Tax Senior to join our clients CPA firm. This position offers an excellent opportunity for leadership and career advancement in an influential role. Our ideal candidate will have a strong background in oil and gas tax returns, tax accounting, tax advisory, tax research, tax planning, and tax returns. We highly prefer candidates with a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or a Master's degree.
Responsibilities:
As a Tax Senior, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, including federal and state returns for corporations, partnerships, and individuals within the oil and gas industry.
2. Conducting tax research and planning to optimize tax strategies and compliance.
3. Providing tax advisory services and communicating with clients to provide high-level tax advice.
4. Collaborating with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax accounting and reporting.
5. Monitoring and interpreting tax law developments, including communicating relevant updates to the team and clients.
6. Assisting in tax audits and responding to tax notices.
7. Mentoring and training junior tax staff members.
8. Participating in business development initiatives and networking events to build and maintain professional relationships.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess the following:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax role, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
2. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification is highly preferred.
3. Extensive experience in preparing and reviewing oil and gas tax returns.
4. Strong knowledge of tax accounting, tax advisory, tax research, tax planning, and tax returns.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
9. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
10. Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
