We are looking for a skilled and experienced Tax Senior to join a local Odessa CPA firm. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to client tax strategy and compliance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate tax compliance, providing strategic tax planning, and managing tax risks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and ensure their timely and accurate submission.
- Assist with tax planning and research, including analyzing current and proposed tax legislation to identify potential impacts on the organization.
- Support tax audits and inquiries by governmental authorities, including preparing responses and defending filing positions.
- Develop and implement strategies for minimizing the organization's tax liabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure tax considerations are appropriately addressed in business decisions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tax laws and regulations and ensure the organization's compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation or a CPA designation is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax.
- Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret tax laws and regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals.
- High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
