We are currently seeking a dynamic, proactive, and highly motivated Permanent Tax Senior Manager to join our fast-paced finance team. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of tax compliance, planning, and strategy. The role requires a deep understanding of tax laws and regulations, coupled with a strategic mindset to drive tax efficiencies and mitigate risks.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all tax-related operations, including planning, compliance, and audits.
- Review and sign off on complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the tax team, and create strategies to capitalize on changes to taxation legislation.
- Provide internal tax advisory services and support on business transaction and tax issues.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits.
- Maintain tax balances on general ledger.
- Build relationships and interact with clients to provide excellent planning, consulting, and expertise.
- Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget.
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to stay updated on tax laws changes.
- Train and mentor junior tax staff and interns, conduct performance reviews, and contribute to performance feedback and training.
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships to enhance our brand and reputation in the marketplace.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. Advanced degree in Taxation or Law is highly desirable.
- Must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or a member of a State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive tax consulting and compliance experience in public accounting or a combination of corporate and public accounting experience.
- Experience in managing multiple client engagements and client service teams.
- Excellent research skills and strong written and verbal communications skills required.
- Ability to leverage technology to enhance service delivery.
- Ability to manage and grow strong client relationships.
- Experience with various tax applications and research tools.
- Excellent project management and presentation skills.
- Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
- Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
- Analytical skills with detail orientation.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
- Familiarity with financial reporting and other areas impacting the tax function.
- Proficiency in MS Office—Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
