You will be responsible for:
Conducted technical reviews and approved all tax returns and governmental tax examinations of varying complexity.
Serve as a subject matter expert in relevant disciplines or industries.
Take full responsibility for larger tax returns, delegating tasks to tax preparers as necessary.
Manage client service responsibilities, either directly or through delegation from the Partner.
Oversee and manage governmental tax examinations, including representing clients before taxing authorities.
Contribute to the development of a skilled team by assisting with recruitment, performance evaluations, training, and professional development.
Ensure the efficient flow of tax returns through the preparation system, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
Manage accurate and timely billing and collection processes.
Prepare various reports and projects as requested by the partners.
Evaluate and recommend tax preparation and research software to partners.
Engage in firm practice development through networking, community involvement, and industry activities.
You can bring to the firm your:
In-depth knowledge of current tax laws.
Proficiency in computer-based tax preparation, research, and planning software.
Flexibility to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with significant overtime (up to 55+ hours per week) from January 1 to April 15.
Seven to ten years of public accounting experience with demonstrated growth in tax complexity, scope, and research.
At least two years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
Minimum one year of experience supervising and directing tax preparers.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required; a master’s degree in taxation is preferred.
A minimum of forty hours of continuing education annually to maintain and enhance technical and business skills.
A valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and good standing with the American Institute of CPAs are required.
