This role will play a key part in shaping the future of our practice and leading a team of tax professionals. This individual will provide expert guidance on complex tax issues, drive business growth, and ensure high-quality tax services for a diverse client base. Responsibilities include executing our delivery strategy, building and maintaining strong client relationships, exceeding quality standards, and fostering the professional development of junior team members. Reporting to the Tax & Accounting Leader, this role will also collaborate closely with other management team members.
Responsibilities
Client Relationships:
- Build and maintain strong relationships by addressing complex tax matters and providing strategic financial and tax advice.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify client challenges and opportunities.
Tax Services:
- Manage and oversee the preparation of individual, business, and estate tax filings.
- Ensure filings comply with regulations and are submitted on time.
- Research tax issues, stay updated on tax law changes, and develop strategies aligned with client goals.
- Help design, test, evaluate, and adopt new processes and technologies as they become available.
Leadership & Development:
- Assist leadership in shaping the practice’s tax and bookkeeping services and managing a large team of tax professionals.
- Mentor and train junior team members, fostering professional growth.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, and cultivating a collaborative culture.
- Lead initiatives to improve processes and adopt new technologies.
Requirements
- CPA, EA, or equivalent professional certification.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of tax or financial accounting experience, including client-facing roles.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
