Responsibilities:

• Conduct technical tax review and approval of all tax returns and governmental tax examinations, demonstrating expertise in the discipline or industry.
• Assume full responsibility for larger tax returns, delegating tasks to tax preparers as necessary.
• Manage client service responsibilities for clients directly handled by the Tax Manager or those delegated from the Partner.
• Delegate and oversee governmental tax examinations, potentially representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Contribute to staff development through recruiting, performance evaluations, and professional development training.
• Ensure smooth flow of tax returns through the preparation system to guarantee accurate, complete, and timely delivery.
• Maintain accurate and timely billing and collection processes.
• Prepare additional reports and projects as requested by partners.
• Research and evaluate tax preparation and research software for recommendation to partners.
• Participate in firm practice development efforts through engagement with referral sources, community, and industry activities.

Qualifications:

• Review corporate income tax provision calculations.
• Demonstrated knowledge of current tax laws.
• Proficiency in computer tax preparation, tax research, and tax planning software programs.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime throughout the year, with heavy overtime required from January 1 to April 15.
• Seven to ten years of full-time tax compliance experience in public accounting, with exposure to international tax forms such as forms 5471, 5472, 8865, 8858, 8621, and 1116, showcasing progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
• Minimum of two years' experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
• Minimum one year of supervisory experience directing tax preparers' work.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; master’s degree in taxation preferred.
• Completion of at least forty hours of continuing education annually to maintain and develop technical and business skills.
• Current and valid CPA license is mandatory.
