Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple tax engagements to deliver quality tax services for our clients.
- Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals, businesses, benefit funds, real estate, and exempt organizations.
- Build new and existing client relationships and demonstrate an understanding of client businesses.
- Review tax returns prepared by staff and make recommendations on return preparation regarding accuracy and tax savings opportunities.
- Conduct complex tax research and prepare memoranda outlining findings and conclusions.
- Respond to inquiries from regulatory agencies and assist in tax audits.
- Assist with business development efforts, including presentations and proposals.
- Provide tax planning and compliance to various clients in a wide variety of industries.
- Manage, direct, and monitor multiple client services teams on client engagements.
- Plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects in a wide variety of industries; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; and manage to budget.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in public accounting or corporate/public blend.
- Proficiency in Tax Preparation, Corporate Tax, Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory, Tax Returns, and Partnership Tax.
- CPA certification or working towards this certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field, Master's degree in Taxation preferred.
- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Excellent presentation and communications skills.
- Strong management and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple engagements and client service teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs, including spreadsheet programs (i.e. Excel).
- Experience with other software programs such as QuickBooks and tax preparation software (i.e. CCH ProSystem fx) is a plus.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, colleagues, and regulatory agencies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work additional hours as needed and travel to various client sites.
