Job Details
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in day-to-day client management with a focus on client communication and accountability
- Review and prepare various types of income tax returns, including C-Corp, S-Corp, Partnership, and Individual
- Conduct tax research and communicate findings to clients, as well as maintain client files
- Assist with strategic business and tax consulting, including tax minimization and risk management strategies such as:
- Analyzing partnership operating agreements to determine profit/loss allocation
- Providing support for merger and acquisition analysis and due diligence
- Reviewing client trial balances for book/tax timing differences
- Evaluating depreciation methods and lives used
- Assisting with accounting method changes
- Reviewing multi-state operations for state filing requirements
- Provide assistance with federal and state tax controversy work
- Supervise and train Tax associates
Job Requirements:
- College graduate with an accounting degree
- Strong technical and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of MS Office and accounting software, including tax research software
- Eligible to sit for the CPA exam (candidates already holding the CPA credential are preferred)
- At least three years of experience as an associate in a public accounting firm or equivalent work experience
