Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns, in compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
Monitor and manage tax deadlines, ensuring all submissions are completed on time.
Tax Planning & Advisory:
Provide tax planning strategies to clients, helping them minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax efficiency.
Analyze financial statements and other relevant data to identify tax-saving opportunities and potential risks.
Advise clients on tax implications of various business transactions, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructuring.
Client Management:
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing their tax-related queries and concerns.
Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering exceptional service and support.
Lead client meetings, presenting tax findings, strategies, and recommendations.
Team Leadership & Development:
Supervise and mentor junior tax staff, providing guidance on tax matters and reviewing their work for accuracy and completeness.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to enhance the technical skills of the tax team.
Foster a collaborative team environment, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
Research & Analysis:
Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations, ensuring clients receive up-to-date advice.
Conduct in-depth tax research on complex issues, providing clear and actionable insights to clients.
Develop and maintain tax models to support strategic decision-making.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments, including audit, accounting, and legal, to provide holistic solutions to clients.
Participate in interdisciplinary projects, contributing tax expertise to broader business initiatives.
Collaborate with external advisors and regulators as needed to ensure comprehensive tax coverage.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
4+ years of experience in public accounting or a corporate tax department, with a focus on tax compliance and planning.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
Experience with tax software and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
