As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, identify tax-saving opportunities, and provide excellent service. As a Tax Preparer, you will be responsible for preparing and reviewing a variety of tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts. You will work closely with clients to ensure compliance with all applicable tax laws, identify tax-saving opportunities, and provide excellent service. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has strong analytical skills, and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
- Analyze financial records to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance with tax laws.
- Communicate with clients to gather necessary tax information and provide guidance on tax-related matters.
- Identify potential tax-saving strategies and opportunities for clients.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
- Provide exceptional client service, addressing any tax-related questions or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist with tax planning and forecasting for clients.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient tax return processing and accurate filings.
- Maintain client confidentiality and adhere to firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Active CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or EA (Enrolled Agent) designation is required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in tax preparation, preferably in a CPA firm or public accounting setting.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software (Lacerte is ideal).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to effectively manage client communications.
